I’m Lois, a professional copyeditor and proofreader based in Glasgow. I work in-house copyediting and proofreading in the civil service, and have a master’s degree in Linguistics and English Language. I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading and have completed copyediting training through Publishing Scotland, as well as proofreading training through the CIEP.

As a copyeditor, I specialise in academic and corporate non-fiction; I can ensure your writing follows a style guide and is easily understandable for the target audience. Although these are my main specialisms, I am always open to working on other genres, so please don’t hesitate to send an enquiry.

As a proofreader, I can offer services for a wide range of writing, from academic writing to fiction. In my in-house role, I regularly proofread text from longer guidance books to short leaflets and webpages.
